Idaho Trip, Cousins, horses

So Conference weekend Chris and I took the boys ( Dani stayed with Grandparents) to Idaho to visit with family and go horseback riding. We stayed with Chris' uncle Shane and his family. It was so much fun. The boys had a blast with their cousins. Triston absolutely adored Rope. He followed him everywhere and did everything he did. We went up Friday night and stayed until Sunday. Saturday morning we went to Brand's football game. It was fun to watch the boys play. They were really good.

Triston and Rope

Rope and Triston: They came over to tell me to take a picture of them doing their trick:)

On Saturday afternoon, we dropped our boys off at Aunt Karla's with some of the other cousins, and then we headed to Herriman to go horseback riding. I hadn't been since I was little. I was really nervous. Chris had been in the past two years with Shane and was as comfortable as he could be.  Our first feet right off the bat was crossing this huge freakin river. The guys kept telling me not to look down because I might fall of my horse because it was so disorienting. However the little boys kept telling me to look at the water. :) So of course I didn't look down. I did however get out my camera and take a few shots. I didn't dare put it up to my face so this is the shot from about chest level :)

Rope and Brand: They were born to ride horses.

The horses had a harder time crossing a small stream than the huge river. It was funny, but scared me senseless when my horse jumped over :)

This was my horse for the day, Amigo. He did not want to obey me. I am sure because he thought I was a moron.

Watching the elk while we ate chicken.

Who is that handsome Cowboy?

Yep that's me.
On the way back out it started getting dark. The elk were all around us bugling like crazy. It was awesome. We couldn't see them very well but it was amazing to know they were all around us. I was sooooooooooooooo sore for the next week, but it was worth it. It was a lot of fun. Thank you so much to Shane and everyone else who went with for taking us. And especially to Karla for watching the boys all day. You kept me sane :)
After we ate Shane told me to ride the horse Chris had been riding. The horse minded a lot better, but he was huge and the saddle hurt more than the other so we switched back.

Sunday morning before we left, the boys got to ride horses with their cousins. Triston was a little nervous at first, but then Rope got on with him and he was fine. Zack got on and said "mom, we need our cowboy hats" I just laughed. He hadn't wanted to wear his hat the whole weekend.

LOVE it.

Rope and Brand took the boys for a little ride down the road. I was freaking out when I couldn't see them, but I didn't say anything. I knew they would b
